I've constructed it in two parts; a 'U' shape assembly which is fixed and bolted to the side
trim, and the other section which is foldable is attached with a 'piano hinge'. Two small sliding locks hold the foldable
section in place.
Construction is made from of 3 ply wood, and then it is covered with grey material to match the colour
of all the trimming interior of my disco. The material is streched around with the wood and then stapled at the back.
After installing this shelf I've noticed that the original interior light placed at the right hand
side was not sufficient enough to light the whole load space area, so I decided to add a couple of small lights. I have wired
these two vanity lights to switch on from a seperate switch and not together with the original interior light. In fact I've
installed this small switch on top of the existing interior light, as can be seen from the photos.
